BOY band The Wanted have revealed they are sick of being preyed on by lusty girls whenever they go out to have a drink together.
The chart-topping group say they feel like “animals in a cage” because girls go to extreme lengths to get close to them.
The band’s Siva Kaneswaran, 22, told The Razz: “The pub we go to is quiet. But when we go to a club, it feels as if we are in a cage.
“We just go for a dance and we get stalked. It’s not even funny how forward girls are. They are crazy.
“As soon as girls see a famous person, they will do anything.
“They go crazy to get your attention even if you don’t look at them. If you are dancing in a club, a girl will keep moving to get in your eyeline. It is relentless and it makes you want to get out of there.
“I would like to say I got that level of attention before the band but I didn’t. Let’s be real. It’s because of the fame.”
Brit-nominated for No.1 hit All Time Low, The Wanted - Jay McGuiness, Max George, Nathan Sykes, Siva and Tom Parker - will perform at the Daily Record Our Heroes awards at Glasgow’s Hilton Hotel on May 13.
All five members live together but Max - who’s dating Corrie star Michelle Keegan - said that doesn’t cramp his style when spending time with his girlfriend.
“The relationship is going great,” he said. “We see each other all the time. She goes down to London and I go up to Manchester.
“We met at a gig in Manchester. We just sit in her house and watch DVDs - and we don’t watch Coronation Street.
“She lets me watch the football, which is a bonus. She can sit there learning her lines while I watch the match.
“We have been together nearly six months. It’s not the longest relationship but it is the best.”
Michelle said: “The rest of the band call us Maxelle. I’ve put on half a stone because I love cooking for Max. I actually can’t believe I’m going out with a pop star and he’s the most perfect man.”
Max, 22, found fame with The Wanted after his chance of hitting the big time as a football player was crushed due to injury.
Hesaid:”My dad was a youth team boss at Salford City but he retired last summer. He keeps an involvement with the kids who might not get an opportunity because of their backgrounds.
“Through him, I had a stint at Preston North End but I spent most of my time at Manchester City and Oldham. That was going to be my career but I got a couple of bad injuries. I snapped my hipflexor, which is basically the groin, twice.
“I also snapped my hamstring. I was gutted but I let my head go and it didn’t bother me so much because I didn’t have to keep fit.
“I then got involved with too many girls and too many parties and I asked myself what I was doing. I picked myself up and got myself into music and I haven’t looked back.”
