Deafening screams greeted The Wanted as they took to the stage at the iTunes Festival on Wednesday night.
Nathan, Jay, Max, Siva and Tom performed at the Roundhouse in Camden as part of the annual month-long festival and they showed us exactly why they're one of the most exciting pop acts in the country today.
Kicking off their hour-long set with fan favourite Behind Bars, the lads delighted the packed-out crowd of competition winners with their..
strong vocals and self-deprecating humour. "We're absolutely delighted to be here. Tickets were cheap, weren't they?" joked Max.
Just as The Wanted's music has rarely followed the typical 'boyband sound', their live show also carefully avoided that trap too. The guitars were loud, they (shock horror!) played their own instruments during the acoustic section and their dance routines weren't too choreographed either - unless you count a bit of light fist-punching during Personal Soldier or their slightly awkward shuffles to Glad You Came.Highlights of the gig included a reggae-ish twist on Neon Trees' Animal, a goosebump-inducing cover of the Goo Goo Dolls' Iris and Tom's "favourite song to perform", Gold Forever, which had everyone enthusiastically raving along. The loudest cheers were naturally reserved for Nathan, who was looking particularly cute in his suit jacket and jeans combo. We know it changes all the time, but we might finally have settled on a favourite member. Possibly.Introducing their closing number, All Time Low, Max gushed: "We've had a wicked night". And we certainly did too! strong vocals and self-deprecating humour. "We're absolutely delighted to be here. Tickets were cheap, weren't they?" joked Max.
