Chester Chronicle have just released a new interview with Nathan, just ahead of the boy performing at Chester Rocks on Saturday!! See it below:
Few British bands of the moment can provoke the kind of fanmania which greets chart-toppers The Wanted wherever they go. Ahead of their Chester Rocks performance on Saturday, CARMELLA DE LUCIA talks to baby of the band Nathan Sykes about their amazing rise to the top.
In a messy house somewhere in South London, five young men are having the time of their lives.
By the amount of beer cans on the floor and frozen pizzas in their freezer, you’d be forgiven for mistaking them for a group of raucous university students living away from home for the first time.
Except that these boys invoke scenes of mass hysteria wherever they go and are quite capable of setting the pulse racing of nearly every teenage girl in the UK.
But Max, Siva, Tom, Jay and Nathan - who make up The Wanted, the country’s boyband of the moment - insist they’re just normal boys, having a laugh.
Despite getting to travel all over the world, including a stop off in Chester to perform at the city’s Chester Rocks festival this summer, baby of the band Nathan Sykes says they’re just five lads who can’t believe their luck.
“We are having such a blast,” enthuses the 18-year-old. “I can honestly say that there are no bad bits of my job. Living with the lads is superb, although a little messy! They’re great guys and we have a lot of fun.”
And the boys will be sure to light up the stage when they perform at Chester Rocks on July 2.
It may not be like the exotic, far flung lands they’ve been used to of late, having jetted back from Singapore earlier this year, but nevertheless, Nathan says the band are looking forward to performing here.
“To all our Chester fans, I’d say just come down and have a ball because that’s exactly what we’ll be doing,” he giggles.
“There’s always such a great atmosphere at local concerts, I just hope it doesn’t rain!”
The fun shows no sign of slowing down, with a packed tour schedule throughout the summer - and the boys couldn’t be happier.
“I could sit here and complain about early mornings and late nights, but what we’re doing is just amazing,” says Nathan emphatically.
“For someone who’s just turned 18, not many people my age are doing what I’m doing and having an absolute blast at the same time. Life is superb!”
